Nita Marie Thompson, 78, of Bratt, Fla., passed away Thursday Feb. 13, 2014, in Century, Fla.

She was an accountant, born in Walnut Hill, Fla., on May 3, 1935, to the late Walter and Ida Locke Garrett. She attended Liberty Church.

Those who preceded her in death include her husband, Willie “Buck” Thompson; a son, Randall Thompson; one brother and three sisters.

Survivors are two sons, Gary (Donna) Thompson of Mississippi; Greg Thompson of Arkansas; two daughters, Charlotte (Travis) Lowery of Walnut Hill, Fla., and Sharon Thompson of Milton, Fla.; two brothers, David (Ronell) Garrett of Walnut Hill, Fla., and Justin (Carolyn) Garrett of Atmore; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

The family expresses a special thanks to Century Care Center.
Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Tim Wetzel officiating. Interment will follow in Godwin Cemetery.

The family received friends Saturday, Feb. 15, at 1:30 p.m., until the 2:30 p.m. service time at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.
