Gloria Jean ‘Boo Bop’ Bryars

Gloria Jean “BooBop” Bryars, 55, of Atmore, transitioned to her eternal home on March 25, 2014, at Baptist Hospital, after a sudden illness.

She was a native and longtime resident of Atmore. She attended Escambia County High School and was a member of Walking by Faith and Not By Sight Ministeries, Inc. She had a passion for flowers and loved making floral arrangements.

Those who preceded her in death include her father, Neal Payne; one sister, Diane Payne; and four grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her life with fond memories are her husband, Burrel Frank Bryars of Atmore; two daughters, Sandra Lowe and Min. Carolyn Biggs, both of Atmore; three sons, Michael Payne of Madison, Wis., Henry Payne and Roger Hall Jr., both of Atmore; her mother, Mary Pearl Stots of Atmore; her stepfather, William Stots of Atmore; two sisters, Joann Bailey of Westbury, N.Y. and Mickey Brown of Atmore; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Celebration of life services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 2, at the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with Apostle Cleveland Biggs, pastor of Walking By Faith and Not By Sight Ministries, celebrant and the Rev. Isaac Bradley, host pastor.

Inhumation will be in the Stallworth Cemetery with Turner Funeral Chapel, LLC of Atmore directing.
