County fishing lake re-opening Friday

Escambia County Public Fishing Lake will reopen on Friday, Aug. 1, under the operation of the new lake manager Donna Moye, according to a press release from the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

The lake had been temporarily closed pending the hiring of a new lake manager. The 184-acre lake is located in the Conecuh National Forest east of Brewton, off County Road 11.

The lake offers public restrooms, a covered fishing pier, a boat ramp and a covered pavilion. The concession has bait, fishing tackle and snacks available at the lake. In addition to a valid fishing license, a daily $3 fishing permit is required.
