Lacey Shae Sanspree and John Russell Smith, together with their families, are pleased to announce their June 6th wedding.

The bride elect is the 22-year-old daughter of David and Donna Byrd of Excel and the granddaughter of Ruby Sanspree and the late Rodney Sanspree of Atmore and the late Edward and Helen Wall of McCullough. Lacey is a 2011 graduate of Excel High School and a 2014 graduate of Alabama Southern, where she received an associate’s degree in nursing. She is currently employed by the Monroe County Board of Education and Monroe County Hospital.

The prospective groom is the 25-year-old son of Russell and Jonny Smith of Goodway and the grandson of Sarah Smith and the late Freemon Smith of Goodway and Shirley Weaver and the late John Larry Weaver of Uriah. John Russell is a 2008 graduate of J.U. Blacksher High School and a 2013 graduate of The University of South Alabama with a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education. He is currently employed at Huxford Elementary School.

The couple will enjoy an outdoor ceremony at the home of David and Donna Byrd in Excel. The ceremony is set for June 6, 2015, at 6 p.m., with reception to follow. All friends and family are welcome.
