Bayou La Batre native and McDavid, Fla., resident Walt Butler has joined the Atmore Advance.

Butler comes to the Advance from the Atmore News, where he served as an ad sale rep and photographer.

He spent many years in wholesale lumber sales in the Florida panhandle, and worked at a shipyard.

Butler has been in the Atmore area for the past 18 years.

“It’s a great opportunity. I’m looking forward to working with the team at the Atmore Advance,” Butler said.

Atmore Advance Publisher Michelle Staff said she’s delighted that Butler has joined the paper.

“I am very excited to have Walt come on board with us at the Atmore Advance,” Staff said. “I feel Walt is a great asset to our team.”
