The Atmore Rotary Club may be awarding two scholarships up to $2,000 to two 2016 high school graduates with a 2.5 or higher GPA who enroll as a full time student in a college program for the 2016–2017 academic year (fall and spring semesters). The scholarships are awarded on the basis of both merit and need.
Scholarship application packets are available at local high schools; students should contact their high school counselor for an application. All applications must be completed and postmarked by April 8, 2016, and must be returned with statement of finances, essay, official high school transcript and two teacher recommendations. The scholarship winners will be announced at the Atmore Rotary Club’s Academic All Star program in May.
The Atmore Rotary Club is an affiliate of Rotary International, which is the world’s first service club organization. More than 32 local members volunteer their time and talent to further the Rotary motto, Service Above Self. The Club supports the Academic All Stars, the Benefit Clay Shoot and other community activities.
