Wind Creek Atmore’s TITO program donated more than $10,000 to the Greater Escambia Council of the Arts (GECA) recently.

According to a press release, the donation was presented to Jerry Janes, one of GECA’s founders.

“I can’t say enough about the blessing that Wind Creek Atmore’s TITO program has been for not only GECA, but other local organizations as well,” Janes said.

WCA Property Manager Tim Ramer said TITO (Ticket In Ticket Out) isn’t about writing a check.

“This is about our guests pitching in and standing behind causes that matter to them,” Ramer said. “Our guests made this happen for all of us.”

GECA is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization whose purpose is to foster, develop and promote the performing arts. The group has performed nearly 100 different productions since it was formed in 2000, including “Alice in Wonderland”, “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Titanic” and “The Wizard of Oz.” GECA is committed to exposing people from all ages and walks of life to the world of theatre. The mission is strong, but so are the obstacles. The only funding GECA receives is from ticket sales, grants and donations.

Janes said the donation will go toward construction of new restroom facilities at GECA.

WCA donated $10,786.45 to GECA.

Funding for this donation was raised through WCA’s TITO program. TITO allows casino guests to donate unwanted cash-out tickets to a designated charity each month.
