Softball rundown: ACS picks up 2 wins

Atmore Christian School picked up two wins over the last week in softball action.
The Lady Rams beat West Florida Baptist 12-2 in six innings on Tuesday, and beat Bashore 16-5 in five innings last Friday. Both were mercy rule wins.
The mercy rule is when a team leads another by 10 or more runs. The game is called after a certain number of innings.
ACS 12, West Florida Baptist 2
Valen Shelly went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs; Lauren Metzler went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI; Kaylynn Swartzendruber went 2-for-3 with a walk and three runs; and Courtney Hursh went 2-for-5 with two RBIs to lead ACS.
Swartzendruber struck out four and allowed two runs on five hits in four innings of work. Metzler had four strikeouts in two innings while allowing one hit.
ACS 16, Bayshore 5
Swartzendruber went 3-for-3 with three runs and five RBIs; Metzler went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI; Gracie Coon went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs; Shelly went 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI; and Miriah Skelton went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Metzler struck out six and allowed five runs on three hits in five innings.
ACS is back in action on March 29 at West Florida Baptist.
