A two-vehicle wreck involving a school bus sent one student to a local hospital last Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Atmore Police Department, the wreck occurred at around 3:28 p.m. near the intersection of South Main Street and Craig Street.

The first driver, Colton Sims, of Atmore, was driving a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado, and the other driver, Jean Montel, also of Atmore, was driving a 2000 International 3800 bus.

Sims was heading northbound on Main Street and collided with the side of the bus, according to the APD.

Only one student was transported to Atmore Community Hospital and was later released.

There were no other injuries as a result of the wreck.

The students were released in the care of their parents, and it is unknown who was at fault, according to the APD.
