High School and college students in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) classes will get the chance to name the main street inside of the ongoing Rivercane Development, according to city of Atmore officials.

The park will house local and regional companies and will support manufacturing, aerospace and other industries across the Gulf Coast.

The contest is open to all high school and college STEM classes, and it lasts from May 1-15, 2016.

Names can include street, road, boulevard, avenue, parkway, drive, etc., and it must be science or technology related. Names excluded include no personal or historic names.

Names must be submitted and emailed to mayorstaff@cityofatmore.com. Students can contact their principal or school office administrator to acquire a form. Additionally, those can mail the form to City of Atmore, 201 E. Louisville Ave., Atmore, AL, 36502. Postmark must be by May 15.

Judging will be conducted by community and industrial leaders in the Atmore area.

Prizes include $400 for your teacher and classroom.

Multiple classes from the same school may participate.
