Atmore league holds opening ceremonies

Atmore’s Cal Ripken baseball league held its opening day ceremonies Saturday at Tom Byrne Park.

The ceremony culminated a busy week of baseball action between teams as they culminate their regular seasons.

Here is the rundown of how the teams did on Saturday and the week previous.

State Farm Cubs 16, Poarch Indians 0

Deondre Hooks scored two runs and hit two home runs; Cali McCants scored two runs; Jaylen Taylor and Gabe Hooks scored three runs each; Samarrion Clark scored two runs; and Jamarrion Hooks, KJ Taylor, Chep Thompson and Triston Young scored one run each for the Cubs.

In other action, the Cubs blanked the Poarch Braves, 10-0.

 

West Escambia Utilities Blue Flames 18, Cornerstone Builders Nailers 1

Kamarie Stallworth, Aaliyah Robbins, Marlyon Arnold, Camden Stewart, Kay Crenshaw, CJ Arnold and Quardon Crenshaw scored two runs each to lead the Blue Flames.

Kaleb Taylor scored the only run for the Nailers.

 

Poarch Reds 8, H&H Electric Braves 6

DJ Rolin went 3-for-3 to lead the Reds. Silas Albritton went 2-for-3; Josh Bukett went 2-for-3; River Ramer went 2-for-3; and Jamison McGee went 2-for-3.

The Reds scored two runs in the first, one run each in the second and fifth innings; and four runs in the fourth inning.

Rease McGill, Christopher Johnson and Harper Harrison had two hits each for the Braves.

 

Poarch Warriors 6, First National Bank Athletics 4

The Warriors scored two runs in the first inning and four in the fifth inning during the win.

Riley Harrison, Wyatt Sweanten, Jamarion Robinson and ToJo Marshall scored one run each for the Athletics.

 

Tri-Co Electric Shockers 18, Blue Flames 9

Koi Bartholomew scored three runs to lead the Shockers. Addison Hadley, Warner Maxwell, Mason McKinnon, Brayon Corbitt, JaKiya Tucker and Grant Sasser scored two runs each.

Sathia Jones scored three runs to lead the Blue Flames. Karmari Stallworth and CJ Arnold scored two runs each.

In other action Saturday, the Shockers beat the Nailers 18-9.

 

United Bank Warriors 9, Poarch Indians 1

Luke Chavers scored two runs and earned a hit; Logan Hasting went 3-for-3 with three runs; and Braydon Phillips went 1-for-3 with two runs to lead the Warriors.

Miles Smith, Jack Weber, Payton White, Lebron Kyles and Roderick Dortch had one hit each for the Indians.

 

Blue Flames 13, Shockers 12

Aaliyah Robbins went 3-for-3 with three runs; Sarhia Jones went 2-for-3 with two runs; Jami Rogers went 3-for-3; Bryson Frye went 3-for-3; Kay Crenshaw went 3-for-3; Quardon Crenshaw went 2-for-3; Camden Stewart went 3-for-3; and Bobby McMillan went 3-for-3 to lead the Blue Flames.

Kai Bartholomew went 4-for-4 with two runs; Hadley went 4-for-4; Maxwell went 4-for-4; Grant Sasser went 3-for-4; Avery Trawick went 3-for-4; Bentley Howell went 3-for-3; and Christian Roberts went 2-for-3 to lead the Shockers.
