The Atmore Area YMCA’s library is getting a new coat of paint thanks to the Sherwin-Williams store in Brewton.

Sherwin Williams, in conjunction with their Corporate National Painting Week initiative, selects local organizations, businesses or non profits to be the benefactor of a community service project.

The YMCA was selected as the community project for 2016.

Store Manager Robby McClelland and his team have organized volunteers and will provide a team of approximately 10 members to prepare and paint the library area of the YMCA on Tues., May 24.

In addition to providing the labor, the Brewton paint store is also donating paint and materials for the task.

At present, the library is where the active seniors classes are conducted and where the large business meetings are held. Other specific events are also held in the area with the most recent activity associated with Healthy Kids Day.

Preparation for the painting will begin the Friday before the work begins. This portion of the project and activities for the day are staffed by the YMCA and the local community volunteers.

The YMCA will remain open during the process.

Contact the YMCA at 251-368-9622 if you are interested in volunteering or in helping support this project.
