The Chuck Stevens Chevrolet Braves 12U Cal Ripken team defeated the Flomaton Canes 2-0 in regular season baseball action recently.

The contest was a pitcher’s dual as both teams put their best on the mound.

Chuck Stevens got on the board in the second inning when Canyon Odom scored on a fielder’s choice.

In the fifth inning, J.W. Jackson scored on an error.

The Braves’ pitching staff allowed four hits and struck out seven batters.

The following games are from action between May 9-13.

Flomaton Canes 8, United Bank Warriors 7

Nall, Turner, Smith, Bowen and Hawthorne each had a hit for the Canes in the win. Andrews skewered a home run.

Flomaton scored one run in the third inning, two runs in the fourth, four runs in the fifth and one run in the sixth.

United Bank’s Luke Chavers went 2-for-4; Bubba Hastins went 2-for-4 with a home run; Brandon Dean went 1-for-4; and Henry Mims went 1-for-4 to lead the Warriors.

FNB&T Athletics 8, PCI Indians 0

Corey Dailey went 1-for-2; Ronta Watson went 1-for-2 with a home run; Jamarrion Robinson went 2-for-2; Riley Harrison went 2-for-2; Wyatt Swearingen went 2-for-2; and TJ Marshall went 1-for-2 with a home run to lead the Athletics.

The A’s scored four runs each in the first and fourth innings.

Tri-City Electric Shockers 23, Cornerstone Builder Nailers 9

Kai Bartholomew, Addison Hadley, Warner Maxwell, Grant Sasser, Douglas Maxwell and Mason McKinnon scored three runs each for the Shockers. Jakiya Tucker and Christion Roberts scored two runs each; and Avery Trawick scored one run.

Tre Kelly scored two runs to lead the Nailers. CJ Staples, Parker Mash, Xavier Culliver, Levi Crawford, Jermion Boykin, Kaleb Taylor and Braxton Lowana scored one run each.

In other action, the Nailers fell 23-17 to the West Escambia Utilities Blue Flames.

The Blue Flames scored six runs in the first inning, nine runs in the second inning, and four runs each in the third and fourth innings.

Aaliyon Robbins, Sathol Jones, Karmarie Stallworth and CJ Arnold scored three runs each for the Blue Flames. Janoi Rodgers, Quardon Crenshaw, Bobby McMillian, Lanayvion Arnold and Lamarrion Arnold scored two runs each.

Atmore Lions Club Cardinals 10, Poarch Reds 4

Emmett Battles went 2-for-4; Tanner Sanspree went 2-for-4 with two runs; Luke Bell went 3-for-4; Ty McCants went 2-for-3; Randall Dean went 3-for-3; Lebron Hooks went 3-for-3; and Devin Kelly went 2-for-3 with a home run to lead the Cardinals.

The Cardinals scored three runs in the first inning, two in the fourth and five in the fifth inning.

Poarch’s Silas Albritton went 2-for-3; and Josh Burkett went 2-for-3 with a home run.

Northwest Escambia 8, State Farm Cubs 7

Pugh compiled two hits and scored two runs to lead NEW in the win. Landis had one hit; Bridges had three hits; Waters had one hit; Simmons had two hits; Smoker had two hits; Kennell had one hit; and Odem had three hits.

Deondre Hooks went 2-for-3; Cari McCants went 2-for-3; Jaylen Taylor went 2-for-3; Gabe Hooks went 3-for-3; and Jamarrion Hooks went 3-for-3 to lead the Cubs.

State Farm Cubs 15, Poarch Braves 0

The Cubs scored five runs in the first inning, three runs in the second inning and seven runs in the third inning.

Gabe Hooks and KJ Taylor scored three runs each to lead the Cubs.

H&H Electric Braves 10, NWE-Yoder 8

Brodie Phillips scored three runs to lead the Braves. Rease McGill and Christopher Johnson scored two runs each.

Jacob Spence and Brycen Sanders scored two runs each to lead NWE-Yoder. Adam Adams, Gage Lambert, Dexter Smoker and Bryce Hail scored one run each.

Chaston Helton went 2-for-3 with two runs to lead the Braves. Justin Brunson went 1-for-4; J.J. Stephens went 1-for-4 with a double; Lane Baggett went 1-for-2 with a double; Parker Robinson went 1-for-2 with a triple; Canyon Odom went 1-for-3; Joseph Ferguson went 1-for-2; and Brady Howell went 1-for-2.

JT, Zeb, Jerry and Nolan had one hit for the Steel.
