Pools open May 31

Tom Byrne and Houston Avery Park’s city pools will open to the public for the summer on May 31, 2016.
Swimming hours at Tom Byrne are Monday through Saturday from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.; and Tuesday and Thursday nights from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m.
At Houston Avery Park, public swimming hours are from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesdays; from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays; and from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The pool is closed on Saturday and Sunday
Swimming lessons at Tom Byrne are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until noon; and on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:20 p.m. until 6:50 p.m. Lap swimming is Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5-7.
Admission is $1 for those age 15 and below, and $1.50 for those age 16 and up.
The pool is closed on Sunday.
Admission is $1.
Adult swimming lessons are available from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Cost is $1 per lesson.
Children’s swimming lessons will be held Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until noon. Cost is $1 per lesson.
Additionally, private parties can be blocked out for a four-hour period.
Cost for renting the pool for the party is $75, and $40 per lifeguard with a minimum of two.
