Atmore 10Us, 12Us to vie for state titles

Atmore’s 10Us Cal Ripken baseball All-Stars will be traveling to the northwest corner of Alabama for the state tournament this weekend.

The state tournament format is pool play with single elimination bracket play following. Each team from the pool will play three games and will be seeded afterward.

Bracket play will be North versus West and East versus South.

Atmore is playing in the North pool with Florence Blue, Attalla and Spanish Fort Black.

Atmore plays Spanish Fort Black at noon; and then Florence Blue at 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Then on Sunday, Atmore plays Attalla at 7 p.m. to end pool play.

Atmore’s 12U team will play twice on Saturday, and once on Sunday in pool play action.

The 12Us play Sylacauga at 11 a.m. and Grand Bay at 5 p.m. in Pool B. Then on Sunday, Atmore plays Roanoke at 2 p.m.

Teams’ seeds will be based on the tiebreaker rules.

Bracket play begins at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
