Atmore’s Babe Ruth 13-15 baseball league ended its regular season last recently with a final slate of games at Tom Byrne Park.

The West Escambia Utilities (WEU) Braves beat the Carney Lodge Cougars 3-0 on June 9; the Pepsi Flomaton Canes defeated Poarch Creek 16-1; the West Escambia Utilities Braves beat the Carney Lodge 542 Cougars, 9-7; the Pepsi Flomaton Canes topped the WEU 9-1; and the Cougars beat Poarch, 6-5.

West Escambia Utilities Braves 3, Cougars 0

WEU scored two runs in the first inning and one run in the second inning during the win.

Singeon, Jackson, Street and Bubba had two hits each to lead WEU.

Black had two hits to lead the Cougars.

 

Pepsi Flomaton Canes 16, Poarch Creek 1

Five Flomaton players — Gibbs, Steele, Brown, Obannon, White, Odom and Daughtry — had two hits each in the blow out over Poarch Creek.

The Canes tallied eight hits in the first inning to set the tone for the rest of the game.

Flomaton scored eight runs in the first inning, five runs in the second and three runs in the third inning.

Tyler scored the only run for Poarch in the first inning.

 

West Escambia Utilities Braves 9, Carney Lodge 542 Cougars 7

Jones went 3-for-3 with two doubles and two runs to lead West Escambia. Jones scored the first run of the game in the opening frame, and helped lead a seven-run second inning as teammates Sells, Hooks, Jackson, Calvin, Bubba and Singleton all scored one run each.

Jackson scored Jones on an RBI in the first inning, and added a triple in the second inning that scored Sells and Hooks.

The Cougars scored four runs in the first and three runs in the third in the loss.

Bonner hit a triple that scored Bell; and McLemore singled in J. Davis to lead the first inning.

Bonner, McLemore and Gulsby scored in the third inning on five hits.

 

Pepsi Flomaton Canes 9, West Escambia Utilities 1

Flomaton scored two runs in the first inning, four runs in the second and three runs in the third.

Cash and Gibbs scored in the first inning. White, Obannon, Odom and Majors scored in the second on four hits.

Brown Tatum and White scored in the third.

For West Escambia Utilities, Hooks scored in the fourth inning on a single by Shell.

 

Carney Lodge 542 Cougars 6, Poarch Creek 5

The Cougars got off to a hot start with three runs in the first inning as Bonner, McLemore and Bowens scored on four hits.

Bell, Bonner and Bowens scored in the third inning after Poarch tacked on five runs in the second to take a short two-run lead.

Noah, Lour, Thomas, Brendan and Gibbs scored in the second inning for Poarch.
