Dear Editor:

It is true that few things stay the same over time.

However, the Atmore City Pool program is truly an exception to that thought.

It has been over 20 years since my children were taken to the pool for swimming lessons in the mornings and fun swim in the afternoons.

Now, my grandchildren are participating in the same programs. Two of them actually come all the way from Birmingham to take swimming lessons here, because nothing up there compares to the Atmore program. A long overdue “thank you,” is owed to Betty Warren and Sheila Rogers for the excellent program they have maintained year after year.

Someone could say that it is their job, but being responsible for the well being of that many children is far more than just a job. They have always put their heart and soul into developing a program where the safety of our children was the No. 1 priority.

I would like to thank them for years of service to our children and our community.

Sincerely,

Cathy Coley
