Sponsorships are being sought for the Escambia County Habitat for Humanity’s “Framing the Future” fundraiser.
“This is the first event of its kind for us,” said Habitat Executive Director Lisa Tindell. “We are hoping to raise funds that will help us continue to provide safe, affordable housing for low-income families in our community. We also want to encourage participation from others who may not be familiar with our organization and what we do.”
Habitat is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian ministry that builds homes for people in need regardless of race or religion. To date, Habitat has constructed 23 homes in Escambia County and completed numerous home rehabilitation projects throughout the county. Today is the deadline for those wishing to apply to become the organization’s 24th Habitat family.
The Oct. 20 fundraiser will feature a catered dinner, entertainment and silent auction in the Bell Chapel of First Baptist Church Brewton from 6-8 p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Many auction items donated by area merchants will be up for bid until 8 p.m. Winners will be notified at the evening’s close or by phone, Tindell said.
Sponsors are needed for the event, Tindell said.
“As a sponsor, you’ll get something in return as well – tickets to the event and the satisfaction of knowing your sponsorship is helping to make the dreams of owning a home possible for someone in need in our county,” she said.
There are three levels of sponsorship:
• $500 gold sponsorship, which includes six tickets, inclusion in and display of promotional materials, verbal recognition the night of the event and more;
• $300 silver sponsorship, which includes four tickets, inclusion in and display of promotional materials, verbal recognition the night of the event and more; and,
• $100 “Friend of Habitat” sponsorship, which includes two tickets and recognition on Habitat’s email newsletter and on its website.
“And remember, donations are tax-deductible,” Tindell said.
Tickets to the night’s event are $20 in advance and $25 the week of the event. A 20 percent discount is available to those purchasing five tickets or more.
