To the editor:

Let me begin by saying our city street department has worked very diligent to help with the flooding and pond issues on our streets.

It is time the residents of Atmore do their part and not blow your lawn clippings into the street that eventually will wind up in the drains.

Just take notice how many residents do this to include commercial lawn care contractors. I don’t think we have a city ordinance against this yet, but maybe it is time.

A small fine to home owners can solve this issue.

It only takes reversing your direction of cut for a couple of strips next to the street.
