Northview shot itself in the foot a couple times in a 42-0 loss to Gulf Breeze, Fla., in regular season action tonight

Chiefs head football coach Derek Marshman said the team had four turnovers in the game, and couldn’t finish drives, in spite of having a couple big drives in the first half.

“We had two busted coverages,” he said “We had a missed tackle on the perimeter.”

Marshman said the boys fought well in the second half, and can take that positive into next week, when the Chiefs host Chipley, a Class 1A school.

“They’re always a powerhouse in 1A,” Marshman said. “It’s still going to be a challenge.

“Our boys didn’t lay down (tonight),” he said. “I thought we played better in the second half than the first half. Our kids kept fighting, and kept fighting. It got chippy at times, but our kids kept fighting.”
