“This was our first region game, and we want to go up 1-0 in our region,” Fountain said. “We play Jackson Academy next week, and they’re a top contender in our region. We wanted to keep pace with those boys.”

Fountain said EA kicked off better, and only had to punt once.

In the game, the Cougars created eight turnovers with Gary Campbell grabbing three interceptions and Fred Flavors two.

Offensively, Brown had touchdown runs of 4, 42 and 37 yards. Turner scored from 1 and 28 yards out.

Flavors scored on an 8-yard run, and ran an interception 18 yards for a score in the second half. Patrick McGhee scored on a 5-yard rush.

Kick off next week is at 7 p.m. at EA.
