The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) released a report that said statewide crime decrease 1 percent during 2015.

“ALEA works closely with county and municipal law enforcement agencies throughout the state and provides assistance for numerous issues facing law enforcement, including targeted patrols, complex criminal investigations, and aviation support for missing persons and manhunts. And ALEA serves as the lead for statewide narcotics investigations,” Secretary of Law Enforcement Stan Stabler said. “Additionally, each year, as part of our Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) program, our agency partners with local agencies to produce Crime in Alabama, an official statistical analysis of county and municipal law enforcement agencies.”

Crime in Alabama is a publication that contains individual crime statistics reported by 350 local law enforcement agencies, in their respective local jurisdictions, throughout the state. Also released are detailed supplemental reports for the 350 local law enforcement agencies, excerpted from the Crime in Alabama 2015 report, including 2015 Domestic Violence in Alabama, 2015 Juvenile Victims of Violent Crime in Alabama, and 2015 County and Municipal Drug-related Crime Statistics.

Alabama’s UCR Program, administered by ALEA, provides uniform crime statistics to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The full Crime in Alabama 2015 publication and supplemental reports may be accessed online here.
