ADOC: Reports of officer strikes unofficial, erroneous
The Alabama Department of Corrections said in a press releasethe reports of corrections officers participating in a strike at William C. Holman Correctional Facility just outside of Atmore are unofficial and erroneous.
“Prison officials are acknowledging that nine officers did not report for the facility’s third shift on Saturday,” ADOC Public Relations Manager Bob Horton said. “In response, and as standing operating procedure, officers from other ADOC facilities were assigned to the shift to augment the security staff.”
Horton said authorities said most officers assigned to the facility’s third shift reported to work the following day.
