2016-17 YLA holds orientation

Youth Leadership Atmore’s Class of 2017 held its orientation at Trinity Episcopal Church last Tues., Sept. 27.

This is the 22nd year of YLA, and the program lasts between seven to nine months. Graduation is in late April.

Each class member had to go through an interview in September at the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce.

Throughout the year, the 18 juniors from area schools will meet once a month to learn about the history of Atmore, for group tours of businesses and industries and for and visiting a four-year college or university to learn about education opportunities after high school, to name a few.
