Byrne pulls support of Trump

Rep. Bradley Byrne said today that he believes Donald Trump isn’t fit to be president of the United States in a statement released from his office.

Byrne said Trump’s comments in regard to women were disgraceful and appalling, and is one of many Republicans withdrawing their support after a Washington Post release with audio of Trump bragging about groping women some 11 years ago.

“There are absolutely no circumstances under which it would ever be appropriate to speak of women in such a way,” Byrne said. “It is now clear Donald Trump is not fit to be President of the United States and cannot defeat Hillary Clinton. I believe he should step aside and allow Gov. (Mike) Pence to lead the Republican ticket.”
