Time in N.C. was well spent last week

Being with family can be a cure-all.

Last week, I had the opportunity to visit with my parents, brothers, nieces and nephews in North Carolina, and it was a time that was sorely needed.

Ramping up for the holiday season that lies ahead, things got a little bit hectic around here, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down. We’ve got so many events coming up, it’s not even funny.

Driving to N.C. wasn’t the difficult part. The biggest obstacle I had to overcome was the length it took to get there.

Going through Atlanta traffic, one is guaranteed an additional hour of driving time added onto the trip.

It took me some eight hours to get to my destination. When I got there, I was overjoyed to be there, albeit a little tired.

For the next few days, we celebrated a great Thanksgiving feast, went separate ways for some activities in the area and enjoyed being together.

That’s why last Sunday, it was hard to leave and get back to the normal routine.

Typically, I like to put in some time on the day of rest to get ahead for the coming week.

It was a good thing that I did that as this week has proven to be another busy one.

But, when I got home Monday night, I smiled and thought that it was good to be back in a normal routine, and that it was good to be out of it for a short time in North Carolina.
