ECSO looking for home invasion suspects

The Escambia County Sheriff’s Office is looking for three people who forced their way into a Moye Drive residence on Dec. 2.

According to a press release, on the night of the incident at approximately 11:26, a 911 call was received by the ECSO in reference to a home invasion/burglary at 397 Moye Dr. in Atmore.

“The caller stated that three subjects forced their way inside the residence and threatened bodily harm to him,” Chief Deputy Mike Lambert said. “The suspects took money and firearms from the residence and left on foot.”

Lambert said deputies responded to the area and made contact with the victim.

“A short distance from the residence, deputies found where a vehicle had left at a high rate of speed, which appeared to be evidence that was related to the crime,” he said.

Lambert said two subjects were found walking near Highway 31 and were detained for questioning. Neither subject fit the suspects’ description and one was arrested for public intoxication.

The case is still open and under investigation.
