- EA plays in title game – Escambia Academy’s football team played in the AISA Class 2A state title game against Autauga Academy. Even though the Cougars lost, this was the second time in three years that EA has played for the championship.
- EA wins AISA track title – The Cougars’ varsity track team won the AISA Class 3A state title in Selma.
- Fountain wins 5A jump title – Escambia County’s Anthony Fountain claimed the Class 5A state track and field’s triple jump title. Fountain finished with a final jump total of 46 feet, 11 inches.
- Brown is AISA finalist – Escambia Academy’s Kris Brown was a finalist for the ASWA’s AISA Back/lineman of the Year.
- EA wins lifting title – Escambia Academy won the AISA’s Class 3A state powerlifting title. The Cougars broke several state records at the event, which was held at Pickens Academy.
- Coach gets 200th win – Escambia Academy head football coach Hugh Fountain notched his 200th win in the state quarterfinals.
- ECHS makes playoffs – Escambia County High School’s baseball team advanced to the postseason.
- 10Us finish in quarters – Atmore’s 10U and 12U Cal Ripken All-Stars made it all the way to the quarterfinals of the single elimination portion of the state tournament.
- EA boys win JV track title – Escambia Academy’s junior varsity boys’ track and field team claimed the AISA’s Class 3A state championshi.The girls finished as the state runner up.
- EA goes to state – Escambia Academy’s boys and girls basketball teams advanced to the AISA Class 3A state tournament in Montgomery.
