Annie Laura Anderson

Annie Laura Anderson, 67, a resident of Bay Minette, died Jan. 15, 2017.

She was born on Sept. 1, 1949.

She is survived by her daughters, Hope Burnette of Marion and Veronica Anderson of Uriah; son, Nicholas Anderson of Pascagoula, Miss.; five sisters, Alezenie (Lawrence Harris), Claressia Boston of Stockton, Bessie Washington of Brooklyn, N.Y., Ann Edwards of Chicago, Ill. and Eunice Anderson of Bay Minette; three brothers, Bishop Leonard (Martha Anderson Sr.), the Rev. James (Mary Anderson Sr.) and Harleey (Marvell Sr.).

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. this Sat., Jan. 21, 2017, from the Zion Fountain AME Zion Church with Bishop Leonard Anderson Sr. officiating. Interment will be held in Robinson Cemetery with Mayberry Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Eddie Wayne Boggs

Eddie Wayne Boggs, 70, of Walnut Hill, Fla., passed away on Jan. 12, 2017, at his residence.

He was born on July 13, 1945, to the late Frank and Gladys Boggs in Phoenix, Ariz. He was a farmer most of his life and he also worked in maintenance in the medical field.

He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.

He is survived by his wife, Corine Thomas Boggs of Walnut Hill; one son, Donald Jackson of Walnut Hill; and five daughters, Susan (Craig) Dockery of Hartselle, Sarah (Marti) Pearson of Hartselle, Clara Boggs of Walnut Hill, and Carrie Ellingsworth and Gail Ellingsworth, both of Oregon; one brother, Sam Boggs of Arizona; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services were held on Jan. 14 at noon from the Pine Barren Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Alan Thompson officiating.

Active pallbearers were Craig Dockery, Matthew Boggs, Joshua Muse, Joseph Muse, P.J. Thomas and Barry Montgomery.

Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

 

Jeremy Raybon

Mr. Jeremy Raybon, 40, of Monroeville, passed away on Mon., Jan. 2, 2017, at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.

He was born in Atmore and had been a resident of Monroe County since 2001. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He worked as a machine operator in the oil business.

He was preceded in death by his father, Julius Franklin Raybon; his mother in law, Peggy Fowler; and his brother in law, Tim Fowler.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Raybon of Monroeville; his daughter, Sydney Raybon of Monroeville; his mother, Marilyn Raybon; his step-father, Alvin Philyaw; his sister, Regina Stabler and husband, Ken of Huxford; a brother in law, Harvey (Marie) Fowler of Monroeville; a sister in law, Sue (Mike) Kitzinger of Camden; and many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Mayci Stabler, and a special nephew, Tristen Fowler.
Funeral services were held Jan. 6 from Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Dwayne Reed officiating. Burial followed in Excel Cemetery. Visitation was held Jan. 5 at the funeral home.

Levonda G. Jones

Mrs. Levonda G. Jones, 48, passed away on Sun., Jan. 8, 2017, in Atmore.

She was a native of Pensacola, Fla., former resident of Bay Minette and has resided in Atmore for the past three years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her father, Michele Gabriel; and grandparents, Sam and Gladys McCaw.

She is survived by mother, Myrdle Gabriel of Bay Minette; husband, Tony Jones of Atmore; two sons, Mason Jones and Dawson Jones, both of Atmore; one daughter, Jessica (T.J.) Jones of Atmore; one sister, Jamie (Greg) Roberts of Bay Minette; and four grandchildren, Kylin, Jazlin, Tra and Adylin.

Graveside services were held Jan. 14 from the Pine Grove Cemetery.

Visitation was held Jan. 14 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were A.J. Gardner, T.J. White, J.T. Davis, Shawn Cooper, Henry Wiggins and Mason Jones.

Honorary pallbearers were Dawson Jones, Kylin Jones and Tra White.

Susan Elaine Cooke Brown

Mrs. Susan Elaine Cooke Brown, 62, passed away on Jan. 12, 2017, in Pensacola, Fla.

She was a native of Springfield, Mass. and a resident of Atmore for most of her life. She was a great and determined mother.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dale Wayne Brown; parents, Harvey and Louise Cooke; and grandmother, Minnie Presnall.

She is survived by her faithful companion of 29 years, Pat Conn of Atmore; two sons, Chris (Sandy) Brown of Oak Grove, Fla. and Clint (Liana Lambeth) Brown of Atmore; one daughter, Shelley Brown (Don) Presley of Perdido; one brother, Richard “Ricky” Cooke of Baton Rouge, La.; three sisters, Sherry Hartley of Sparta, Tenn., Debra Harrison of Mobile and Cindy Fornby of Walnut Hill, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Jan. 15 from the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. John Hamon officiating.

Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Visitation was held Jan. 15 at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Clint Brown, Daniel Lambeth, Tyler Presley, Dale Brown, Dawson Brown and Keaton Brown.

Honorary pallbearers were Tripp Presley, Kypton Presley, Jake Lambeth, Rusty Miller and Kelby Amos.

Susan Tucker Cofield

Mrs. Susan Tucker Cofield, 65, of Uriah, passed away on Wed., Jan. 11, 2017.

She enjoyed gardening and was known for having a “green thumb.” She was a member of Uriah United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Juanita Tucker of Mineola; one son, Jason (Kristal) Cofield of Goodway; one daughter, Stacie (John) Spencer of Uriah; one brother, Garry (Sandy) Tucker of Georgia; two sisters, Jean (Dusty) Rhodes of Mississippi and Martha (Wesley) Stuckey of Georgia; and four grandchildren, Sadie Spencer, Masen Spencer, Silas Spencer and Enoch Cofield.

A memorial service will be held this Sat., Jan. 21, 2017, at 2 p.m. from the Uriah United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ed Mckibbon and the Rev. Cornelius Phillips officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Cervical Cancer Coalition, P.O. Box 13827, Research Triangle Park, N.C. 27709.
