DOTHAN – Escambia County ended its season in the semifinals of the Class 4A South Regional today, falling 44-43 to Montgomery Catholic.The Blue Devils and Knights played close with each other in a low-scoring first half, and were even in the second as they scored 20 each in the third and fourth periods.

Knowing they needed to rebound the ball, the Blue Devils outrebounded the Knights 38-23, however, didn’t make needed second-chance points to pull away.

Lue Williams led ECHS with a double double, scoring 27 points and grabbing 12 boards.

For the game, ECHS made 25 percent of its shots from the field; and 2-of-19 from the arch.

Montgomery Catholic’s BJ Parker led the Knights with 18 points.

ECHS ends its season 18-11.
