Day of prayer is tomorrow

Atmore’s National Day of Prayer Committee will hold its annual event tomorrow, Thurs., May 4, at Escambia County High School’s Cornell Torrence Gymnasium.
The prayer event, which also includes a children’s prayer service with Miss Flippy Toe, begins at 5:30 p.m.
The National Day of Prayer Service order of events is below:
• Welcome, opening prayer and song
• Pledge of Allegiance: Troop 26 and Cub Scouts pack 275
• Reading of Proclamation: Mayor Jim Staff
• Blowing of Shofar: Willonette Hammonds
• Prayer of Repentance: The Rev. Jim Thorpe
Following the opening events, a break out prayer time will be held for different facets of the country, including government, church, military, family, education, media and business.
Then, participants will read the entire Bible. Each participant will receive different scripture texts from the Bible.
