3 injured in wreck

Three suffered injuries in a two-vehicle wreck Monday night on Highway 21 near the 3.60 mile marker, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Trooper Kevin Cook said Treniece S. Wimes of Greensboro, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet that collided with a 2016 Nissan driving by Dushawn Murphy.

Wimes, Murphy and a passenger in Murphy’s car were transported to local hospitals for treatment of their injuries, Cook said.

LifeFlight also transported a victim from the scene, but details on where the victim was taken weren’t available.

In similar, but unrelated news, there was a rollover on Interstate 65 south at the 64-mile marker on Saturday, according to the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the ECSO, it took approximately 45 minutes to extract the victim from the vehicle.

The subject was transported to the local hospital with minor injuries.

The case it under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.

Later Saturday afternoon, there was a four-wheeler accident.

The male driver lost control and was thrown from the vehicle, according ot the ECSO.

He received a leg injury, possible fracture, in the ankle area. He was transported to a trauma center to receive treatment and the accident is under investigation by ALEA.
