Surrounding a table full of books at the Unity House in Atmore, several children grab their next reading adventure.
The children were completing their appointment at the Unity House, which is giving away school uniforms for free.
Sandra Gray, Unity House coordinator, said they’ve been giving away uniforms for this school year for about a month.
“We do this year round,” she said. “We also service employed adults who may need uniforms.”
Gray said the uniform donations come from the community and other resources. She said Jus 4 Kids contributes in the uniform giveaway.
Gray said when children come in to get their uniforms, they’re also given books. Two books are given per child.
The Unity House has been in Atmore since 1998, and services the whole county.
Unity House is open from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., and for more information, call 251-294-0138.
