Shooting Auburn game pics was fun

Orange and blue was everywhere.

Last week, Auburn defeated Mercer University 24-10 in a closer-than-expected non-conference contest.

The Tigers (2-1) struggled against the Bears in the first half, only leading 10-3 at the break.

For Auburn, running back Kamryn Pettway had himself a good day, rushing for 128 yards on 34 carries and scored three touchdowns.

Quarterback Jarrett Stidham had a better day as well, throwing 32-of-37 for 364 yards, no touchdowns and one interception.

Evert college football season, the Alabama Press Association gives weekly newspapers the opportunity to attend games at the University of Alabama and Auburn.

The Atmore Advance received assignments to attend one Auburn game and two Alabama games — home games against Ole Miss and Mercer.

This was the third college football game that I’ve been to where I’ve stood on the field.

Every experience has been different and unique.

Both Alabama and Auburn put on a great show for its fans and those watching around the nation and world, even.

It’s a coordinated effort that I’m sure it took years to get down pat, from making sure the players get their equipment before the game to making sure the field doesn’t have any loose grass prior to kick off.

During football games, I tend to walk around a lot. As I did, I made sure to observe all things around me, from the athletic trainers to even, Aubie doing his thing.

My experience in Auburn on Saturday was pretty good.

I arrived way-too-early, but had some time to take pictures around campus near the stadium.

It was a lot of fun to watch college students migrate toward the stadium for the game, and those still tailgating.

Yes, there was a sea of orange and blue everywhere, but now I’m looking forward to the seas of crimson and white in the near future.
