Escambia County’s girls volleyball squad put in the extra work and it paid off as the Lady Blue Devils notched their first win of the season tonight over J.U. Blacksher.

ECHS won 3-0 (25-23, 25-13, 26-24) in a non-area game match up.

Lady Blue Devils head volleyball coach Stephanie Buitron said the girls have improved so much since the start of the season.

“The girls have been working really hard,” Buitron said.

ECHS will play next tomorrow night at home against W.S. Neal in area action.

Buitron said she’s proud of the girls and how they fought during the win.

During the third set, the Lady Blue Devils fought back from a 6-point deficit (12-18) and tied the set late.
