Woman injured in wreck

An Atmore woman was injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Dec. 29 at the intersection of Jack Springs and Woods Roads, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

According to Sgt. Derek Gessner, at 7:15 p.m., Makenna J. Woods of Uriah, was driving a 2003 Honda Accord with two juvenile occupants.

Gessner said Woods was traveling east on Wood Road, and all occupants were wearing seatbelts.

The second vehicle, a 2011 Nissan Maxima, driving by Deviney B. Smith, of Atmore, was traveling north on Jack Springs Road.

Both vehicles collided at the intersection, Gessner said in a release.

Smith, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Atmore Community Hospital by Atmore Ambulance.

The wreck remains under investigation.
