A Georgia woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Jan. 9 on Interstate 65 near Perdido, according to Alabama State Troopers.

Lt. Joe Piggott said the crash occurred at 1:05 p.m. near mile marker 46.

“Sven Michael Olsen, 58, of Marietta, Ga., was driving northbound when, for unknown reasons, his 2004 Toyota Tundra left the roadway and struck a guardrail,” Piggott said in a release. “The sole passenger, Maire Caitlin Olsen, 26, of Marietta, GA, was not using a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle; she was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Piggott said no charges have been filed in connection with the crash, and further information is not available as troopers continue to investigate the crash.
