Blue Devils fall to St. Lukes

Escambia County fell 44-43 to St. Lukes on senior night at Cornell Torrence Gymnasium in Atmore tonight.
The Blue Devils and the Episcopal School were tied up at 32-all after the third period. During the fourth, the contest was a back and forth affair, but STL made 4-of-6 free throws in the final 58.9 seconds left to edge the home team.
Malik Brown drained a 3-pointer right before the buzzer, and after some dispute on the clock, the Mobile team ran out the clock.
In girls action, the Lady Blue Devils fell 46-26.
Next week, the ECHS girls face Andalusia on Feb. 7 in the semifinals of the Class 4A, Area 2 tournament at Monroe County.
The boys visit Andalusia, where they’ll face MCHS at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 8 in the semifinals.
