Escambia Academy’s Fred Flavors and MJ Jones committed to play football at Huntingdon College last week.

Flavors and Jones announced their commitments via Twitter.

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for giving me the ability to play this game,” Flavors said on Twitter. “Also, I want to thank my family for always making sure I stayed focused at all times.

“Last, but not least, I’d like to thank my coaches and teammates for always pushing me to be my best each and every day,” he said.

Jones said he chose Huntingdon over many schools.

“At this time, I’d like to thank God for all he has done for me and continuing to do for me,” Jones said. “I’d also like to thank all of the college coaches who gave me the opportunity to come play for their school.

“I would also like to thank my family and friends who have been by my side through this thoughtful process,” he said.

Flavors, an AISA ASWA Player of the Year Finalist, compiled 376 yards on the ground and scored six touchdowns. He had 514 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
