Royals top Chiefs 8-3 in 11 innings

Jay scored five runs in the top of the 11th inning to break a 3-3 tie and beat Northview 8-3 in district action tonight in Bratt, Fla.
The Chiefs started out the game with a three-run advantage, but hit a stail mate the rest of the way. The Royals strung together two runs in the fourth and one in the fifth to tie the game.
Blayne Miller allowed one hit and no runs in 4.1 innings to earn the win for Jay on the mound. Josh Majors pitched a gem, allowing one earned run on four hits and striking out 10 to earn the no decision.
Northview’s Seth Killam struck out 12 batters in 6.1 innings of work and allowed three runs on two hits and walked one.
Jay’s Bryce Cook went 3-for-5 to lead the Royals; and Nathan Archer went 1-for-6 with two RBIs to lead JHS. Dutch Burkhead, Miller, Trace Seib and Judd Smith had one hit each.
Northview’s Trevor Singleton went 2-for-5 to lead the Chiefs. Killam, Jackson Moore and Adam Aliff had one hit each.
