Low-pressure system to enter Gulf, rain coming

The area is still under a flash flood watch from Saturday until Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Portions of Alabama and northwest Florida, and southeast Mississippi, include the following areas: central, coastal and inland Baldwin County in Alabama; Escambia County, Ala.; central, coastal and inland Mobile County, Ala.; coastal and inland Escambia County, Fla.; and coastal and inland Okaloosa, Fla.

According to the NWS, a low pressure system is expected to advance northward across the Gulf of Mexico and move into the north central Gulf coast area, after   which this system will move slowly.

This system will bring excessive rainfall to the watch area beginning Saturday evening and continuing through early Tuesday evening.

Rainfall amounts of 6-12 inches locally higher in the watch area, which will likely result in flash flooding.
