Ahead of the inclement weather this weekend, residents can pick up empty sand bags at the Atmore Fire Department to ward off any flooding that may occur.

Fire Chief Ronald Peebles said they are allotting up to 10 bags per family, and the bags can be filled up at the farmer’s market next to city hall. A shovel is required to fill the bags, he said.
