Atmore’s Charlotte Boyle was selected as a permanent member of the Alabama Senior Citizens Hall of Fame recently, according to a press release from the Alabama Department of Senior Services.
Boyle will be inducted as one of the newest members this Sun., Aug. 5, during the annual awards ceremony at First Baptist Church in Montgomery.
Boyle has been a part of several local boards, including the Christian Care Ministry, the American Red Cross, the Atmore Hall of Fame board, the Escambia County E-911 board, the Silver Hair Legislature, was vice president of the Retired Teachers Association of Alabama and has provided employee support for the Garden Reserve.
“It is an honor, and I really appreciate the people that nominated me for these boards,” she said. “I mostly appreciate the people.”
Boyle said she wanted to thank Warner Floyd and the HOF committee for considering her for this honor.
Boyle said she’s blessed to have an opportunity to be a part of so many organizations.
Additionally, as a part of the legislature, she is helping to write resolutions that they hope to be made into law to help the elderly.
