Do you know when the signs indicate that football is nearing?
The signs are pointing to right now.
Escambia Academy began its fall football practice on Monday with two a days. The Cougars practiced twice a day for their first three days of fall practice.
Escambia County High School and Northview will begin their fall tuning sessions soon, if they haven’t already.
This time of year really excites me.
Coupled with the regular duties of being publisher and editor, I have the pleasure of visiting different schools and seeing what the talent looks like for the coming football season.
Now, don’t get me wrong; I’m no expert football analyst. I like to watch how players do things on the field, and try to imagine what’s in their heads at that exact moment.
The dog days of the summer are behind us. Now, it’s time for the boys of fall. And yes I did use use the popular phrase from the famous Kenny Chesney song.
Pretty soon, The Atmore Advance and The Brewton Standard will be publishing their football magazine.
And inside will be a plethora of information, including team previews, player features, rosters, cheerleaders, bands, etc.
Yes, folks, the time is at hand as football season grows near.
