Catherine Albert McLeod Bray

Mrs. Catherine Albert McLeod Bray, 85, passed away on Tues., Aug. 14, 2018, in Cantonment, Fla.

She was a native of Atmore, former resident of Orange Beach and has resided in Atmore for most of her life. She was a member of the St. Thomas by the Sea Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Katie Albert; one sister, Josephine Albert Ward; four brothers, Tony Albert, Johnny Albert, George Albert and Bug Albert; husband, Derhyl Lee Bray; special friend, Guido Whelehan; and son in law, Don Dewrell.

She is survived by one son, Ken (Jerri) McLeod of Cantonment; two daughters, Kay Dewrell of Foley and Janet McLeod of Atmore; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Graveside services were held on Aug. 17, 2018, from the Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Father A. Jayaraj officiating.

Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Homes LLC was in charge of all arrangements.

 

JoAnne Howard Kennedy

JoAnne Howard Kennedy was born Oct. 6, 1966 to Sammie Lee and Lillie Bell Howard Sr. in Atmore, and died on Aug. 18, 2018.

She was a proud graduate of Ernest Ward High School and her first introduction to Christ was at an early age at the sanctuary of New Saint Paul Baptist Church in Walnut Hill, Fla. She was employed many years with Vanity Fair of Atmore and later moved to Pensacola, Fla. She became self employed by owning her own child care facility until her health began to decline.

She is preceded in death by her father, Sammie Lee Howard Sr.

She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted mother, Lillie Bell Howard of Walnut Hill, Fla.; a loving son, Lakedrick D’Andrea Howard of Pensacola; husband, Leon Kennedy; four brothers, Roosevelt Knight, Lorenzo Knight, Jimmy Earl Howard, all of Walnut Hill and Sammie Lee Howard Jr. of Pensacola; one grandson, Semaj Dandre Howard; godson, Demarian “Dee” Knotts of San Antonio, Texas; devoted cousins, John Averart and Danny Ikner, both of Pensacola; devoted friend, Deloris Odom of Pensacola; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. this Sat., Aug. 25, 2018 from Empowerment Tabernacle Christian Center in Atmore. Public visitation will be held from noon until 5 p.m. this Fri., Aug. 24, 2018 at Mayberry Funeral Home.

Mayberry Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

L.C. Chastang

Mr. L.C. Chastang, 75, passed away on Sun., Aug. 19, 2018, in Bay Minette.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Whitehouse Fork. He was retired from Standard Furniture Co. with 40 years of service, an avid Harley person, a hunter and was of the Baptist Faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Susie Chastang; and two sisters, Edna Duffee and Daisy Dickman.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Stella Chastang of Whitehouse Fork; two sons, Ricky (Teresa) Kerby of Whitehouse Fork and Steve Kerby of Whitehouse Fork; three daughters, Shona Gale Chastang of Bay Minette, Cherron Chastang of Whitehouse Fork and Sonya Madonna (Shane) Powell of Nokomis, Fla.; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Wed., Aug. 22, 2018, from the Chastang Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Lewis officiating.

Visitation was held on Aug.21, 2018 at the Whitehouse Fork Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Blaine Chastang, Brent Chastang, Pelham Chastang, Christopher Kerby, Wayne Chastang and Mark Brown.

Honorary pallbearer will be Ray Rider.

Royal Madison

Mr. Royal Madison, 62, of Goodway and a resident of Mobile, passed away on Aug. 15, 2018, in a local Hospital.

He was self employed as a landscaper in Mobile.

Arrangements will be announced by Mayberry Funeral Home.

Stephen Longmire Jr.

Stephen Longmire Jr. was born on April 16, 1976, and died on Aug. 16, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. this Sat., Aug. 25, 2018, from Gaines Chapel in Atmore.

Viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. this Fri., Aug. 24, 2018, at Christian Memorial Funeral Home in Atmore.

Christian Memorial Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
