Escambia Academy fell 31-7 to Tuscaloosa Academy on the road tonight.

The Cougars’ only score came on a 72-yard kick off return from Shannon Wheat.

EA head football coach Hugh Fountain said the team didn’t necessarily play well.

“Not to take anything away from Tuscaloosa Academy,” he said. “We just didn’t play well.”

Fountain said there are numerous things the team needs to work on to get ready for a region match up against Clarke Prep next week.

He said tackling, executing on offense and other areas are going to be polished up this week.

“That’s going to be a very important game,” Fountain said about CPS. “We’ll have to come back on Monday and get regrouped and better.”
