Mary Riley
Funeral service for Ms. Mary Riley of Atmore will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel LLC.
Ms. Riley answered the Master’s call on Mon., Oct. 1, 2018, at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope.
Anita Faye Upton
Mrs. Anita Faye Upton, 73, passed away on Wed., Sept. 26, 2018, in Mobile.
She was a native of Pensacola, Fla., former resident of Molino, Fla. and has resided in Flomaton since 1971. She was manager for the Mt. Zion Chapel Baptist Church Food Kitchen and a member of the Mt. Zion Chapel Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Callie Patrick; son, Jeff Upton; three brothers, Melvin Patrick, Lamar Patrick and Leon Patrick; and one sister, Bessie Bondurant.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Leo Upton of Flomaton; one son, Eric “Teg” Upton of Flomaton; one daughter, Tammy Lynn Upton of Jay, Fla.; one daughter in law, Michelle Upton of Milton, Fla.; two sisters, Geneva Edmonson of Molino and Dorothy Sellers of Molino; two grandchildren, Tristan Upton and Tanner Upton, both of Milton; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Oct. 1, 2018, from the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Peebles officiating.
Burial followed at the Little Escambia Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sept. 30, at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were her great nephews.

Brad Stinson
Mr. Brad Stinson, 42, passed away on Mon., Sept. 24, 2018, in Atmore.
He was a native of Norfolk, Va., former resident of Enterprise and has resided in Atmore since 2008.
He was a 1994 graduate of Enterprise High School, 1998 graduate of Auburn University and 2003 graduate of Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.
He was an avid quail and deer hunter, and he shot skeet growing up. At the age of 14, he was the Alabama State Champion. He also shot at the Junior World Competition in Massachusetts, Texas and California, and was invited to the Olympic Training Camp in Colorado Springs, Colo. in 1993, where he was invited to join the USA Olympic Team.
He was a member of the Enterprise Rifle Team and R.O.T.C. Program.
Since 2010, he had been an assistant attorney general with the Poarch Creek Indians, primarily managing all litigation for the Tribe and all Tribal entities. He also served as the Tribe’s prosecutor and liaison to many outside agencies that deal with law enforcement, including district attorneys’ offices and the United States Attorney’s offices for the Southern and Middle District of Alabama, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
He is survived by his parents, Charles Byron and Barbara June Stinson of Enterprise; wife of 14 years, Lori Madison Stinson of Atmore; two daughters, Bradleigh Anne Stinson and Bailey Catherine Stinson, both of Atmore; grandmother, Evelyn Jones of Enterprise; aunts and uncles, Patricia (Michael) Green of St. Mary’s, Ga. and Rick (Sherrie) Jones of New Brockton; and two cousins, Michelle (Alex) Apotsos of Williamstown, Mass. and Jeslyn Jones of New Brockton.
Funeral services were held Sept. 28, 2018, from the First Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Patterson officiating.
Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation was held Sept. 27 at the First Baptist Church of Atmore.
Pallbearers were Justin Beasley, Alex Grimes, Kenneth Boley, Charles Dauphin, Brian Martin and Cade Langham.
Honorary Pallbearers were Bruce Grice, Stephanie A. Bryan, Venus McGhee Prince, Gia Langham, Debra “Granny” Coon, Doyle Gibbs, Jerry Crosby, Billy Joe Gibbs, Joe Charles Madison, Carl Madison, Dan Talmadge, Ricky Swindell and Ralph Aaron.

Judson Scott Caraway
Infant Judson Scott Caraway passed away on Sept. 25, 2018 in Brewton.
Survivors include his parents, Anthony and Jessica Caraway; paternal grandparents, Tim and Tiwania Caraway; maternal grandparents, Ken and Andrea McCray; parental great-grandparents, James and Judy Welch and Harold and Ruby Fretwell.
Graveside services were held Sept. 29, 2018, at the Bryars-McGill Cemetery with the Rev. Justin Morse, Sister Helen Stewart and the Rev. Junior Byrd officiating.

Jay Kenny Milstid
Jay Kenny Milstid, 39, of Poarch, passed away Sept. 23, 2018.
He was born April 18, 1979 in Atmore.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jay Jackson; grandfather, Earl Jackson; and grandmother, Marie Ramer.
He is survived by his mother, Dona Pearl Jackson (Jess Taylor) of Poarch; his grandmother, Joyce Jackson of Poarch; his children, Samantha Cain (Andrew Crenshaw) of Atmore, Tyler Milstid of Pine Grove, Jacob McGhee of Atmore, Kenneth Earl Milstid of Latham and Skylyn Milstid of Atmore; a sister, Joyce Marie Milstid (Greg Rolin) of Atmore; a step brother, Will (Lachlan) Taylor of Citronelle; grandchildren, Malachi Brooks, Kylar Crenshaw and Emery Crenshaw; two aunts, Linda (Lee) Hiebert of Atmore and Rachel (Jimmy) Varner of Latham; two special cousins, Kyanne, Cheyanne Hadley; and seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sept. 27, 2018 from the Perdido Church of God with Bro. Scott Brooks, Bro. William Rolin and Bro. Bo Bell officiating. Burial followed in Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jeremy McGhee, Jonathan Boutwell, Clay Quinn, Stevie Carpenter, Ron Marshall, John Sells, David Sells and honorary pallbearers were cousins and family.
Visitation was held Sept. 26 at the Perdido Church of God.

William Travis Gunn
Mr. William Travis Gunn, 29, passed away on Fri., Sept. 28, 2018, in Pensacola, Fla.
He was a native of Pensacola, Fla. and has resided in Walnut Hill, Fla. for most of his life. He was a 2008 graduate of Judy Andrews High School. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter and Earnestine Gunn, and Charles and Janie Fuqua.
He is survived by his father, Mark Gunn of Walnut Hill; mother, Tracey L. Gunn of Pensacola; fiancé, Shawna Mason of Pensacola; one son, Cableaux Gunn of California; one daughter, Saoirse Gunn; two sisters, Crystal Ballew of Pensacola and Abbie Hockett of Perdido; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services were held Oct. 2, 2018 from the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ricky Peebles officiating.

Temekia Shantell Redmond-Packer
Temekia Shantell Redmond-Packer was born on Nov. 17, 1982.
She was a joyful and spirited baby. She was taught the values of Christianity and respect. Mekia began her Christian experience with the Holy Community Center under the leadership of her late father Apostle Jimmie C. Wilson and mother, Co -Pastor Irma J. Wilson, who is now pastor of the Holy Community Center after the demise of her husband.
Mekia gained her love and interest in music and instruments at an early age and became one of the most profound musicians, playing both drum and keyboard, but her most loved instrument was the drum. Her gift made room for her after moving to Atlanta, Ga., where she became employed with both Bethel A.M.E. Church and Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church.
She was educated within the Escambia County Alabama School System and a proud 2000 graduate of Escambia High School, where she maintained a member of the Escambia County High School Band. She pursued higher education with both Faulkner State Community College in Bay Minette, and Columbia Technical College in Atlanta.
Mekia peacefully transitioned from time to eternity on Sept. 25, 2018, in Atlanta.
She is preceded in death by her father, Apostle Jimmie C. Wilson; biological mother, Janice Higgins; brother, LaBaius Jones; grandparents; and father in law.
Those who will forever cherish her loving memories are a loving and devoted surrogate mother, Pastor Irma J. Wilson; biological father, Eric (Dorothy) House of Gadsden; surrogate father, John (Lunell) Redmond of Atmore; spouse, Melvin Packer; a loving Godson, Greyson Jukes; siblings, Courtney Peters of Atlanta, Shamar House, Michael (Alicia) House, Doneshay Densmore and Brittany Johnson, all of Gadsden; aunts and uncles, Elder Leroy (Lula) Knight Sr., Barbara McMurray, Anthony Wilson, Gwendolyn Tucker, Diane Alemezhu, Minnie Knight, Ollie Knight, Gertrude Knight, Elizabeth Knight, Lashirley (Lorenzo) Knight, Betty (Decatur) Longmire, Pastor Raymond (Erma) Redmond, Ernestine Redmond, Charles Redmond, Mildred Ford and Rebecca Wilson; mother in law, Mrs. Mary Packer of Perdido; special cousin, Jessica “Muffin” Knight of Atmore; devoted family and friends, the Rev. Dr. Michael (Delois) Wilson Sr., Mrs. Diane Thomas, affectionately known as “ Grannie” of Atlanta and Brittany Jukes; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. tomorrow, Thurs., Oct. 4, 2018, from Holy Community Center in Atmore.
Elder Irma J. Wilson will serve as pastor, Overseer Maurice Square is presiding and the Rev. Dr. Michael Wilson Sr. will serve as eulogist.
Internment will be held in Fairview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Flowerbearers will be the Class of 2000 and cousins.

Mr. Jerry Duane Jones, 54, passed in Jackson, Miss., formerly of Atmore and a resident of Jackson.
