Chamber announces inaugural Williams Station student art show

The submission deadline for the inaugural Williams Station Day student art show is next Mon., Oct. 22.
The winners of this year’s Williams Station Day, the winners of the inaugural student art show will be announced.
The art show, sponsored by Gulf Winds Federal Credit Union and the Atmore Area Chamber of Commerce, invites students from the Atmore area to submit their artwork.
The show is a display of works from the area, and is open to all students in grades K-12 in both public and private schools, as well as home-school students. Each student had a maximum of three entries, and the winning submissions will be on exhibit at the Atmore branch of Gulf Winds.
This year’s inaugural theme is “#DiscoverAtmore.”
Only two-dimensional artwork — painting, drawing and photography — are being accepted for the contest.
The art will be judged and prizes will be awarded to the winning artist, along with second, third and honorable mention prizes.
Submission requirements include:
• the uses of a variety of flat or 3D media, including, but not limited to paints, sketching, pencils, colored pencils or prismacolors, pastels, crayons and photography;
• all art must be matted with a minimum of one-inch black or white border;
• attach students’ name with age/grade and school name on the back of the submission;
• all artwork must be no larger than 18×24 including matting.
