Glorious Creations Hometown Bakery is Atmore’s newest cake shop.

The new eatery held a grand opening celebration on Dec. 15.

Owner Gloria Kyles said she’s been baking cakes for 18 years, something she started doing for kids birthdays.

“We want this to be a place like home,” she said.

In addition to cakes, the new bakery will offer cookies, pies and other sweets, except donuts, she said.

Kyles said the bakery’s name is an inspiration from “heaven.”

“It’s a taste of heaven,” she said.

Glorious Creations is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.; and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until noon. The bakery is located on South Main Street, just down from Southern Care Hospice.
