Escambia Academy scored seven runs in the top of the sixth inning of the first game of a doubleheader as the Cougars beat Clarke Prep 7-6, 5-3 in region action on March 7.
The Cougars couldn’t get a hit on CP’s starting pitcher, EA coach JP Sawyer said.
However, the Canoe team scored seven runs on nine straight hits in the deciding inning.
Cameron Cloud earned the win on the mound for EA.
In the second game, Randall Bonds started, and Chase Bell closed the game on the mound.
“I’m very proud of the way we are executing right now, and our pitching is getting better every game,” Sawyer said.
EA is back in action at Sparta Academy on Thursday.
